As Chief Technical Officer Jim is responsible for the Company's intellectual property portfolio, technology roadmap and relationships with key technology partners, while continuing to lead an experienced engineering team in the development of advanced wireless products spanning 2.5G and 3G air interfaces. Jim brings over 19 years experience in communications equipment design to the Company, including 11 years developing wireless products for markets worldwide. Jim joined the Company as Senior Vice President Engineering in 2003. Prior t o joining Sierra Wireless, Jim was Senior Vice President Engineering for AirPrime, Inc. from 2000 to 2002, then CEO from 2002 until 2003. Prior to AirPrime, Jim spent seven years at DENSO International America, Inc. as Vice President of Wireless Technologies and Senior Hardware Director. He also spent eight years at Hughes Aircraft Co. as Senior RF Staff Engineer, where he spearheaded advanced R&D of spaceborne frequency synthesizers and receivers for DoD applications. Jim holds a BSEE from California State University in Fresno, as well as an MSEE and an EEE from the University of Southern California. |
