James A. Stamm joined Atlas in 1987 as President of Atlas' Specialized Transportation Group and in 1999 he was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlas Van Lines. Between 2000 and 2006, Stamm served in various positions of increasing responsibility, including President and Chief Operating Officer, and Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Atlas World Group and Atlas Van Lines. In 2006, he assumed the role of Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas World Group and Atlas Van Lines.
In his current role, Stamm is responsible for overseeing the activities of Atlas' eight subsidiary companies, including Atlas Van Lines, Inc., Atlas World Group's largest subsidiary.
Stamm, a native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., is a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to joining Atlas, Stamm held various management positions with two other nationally based carriers. |
