Jim McIlrath is Founder and Chairman of the DSC Logistics. Advisory Board of Directors. He founded DSC as Dry Storage Corporation in 1960, operating out of a single floor in a rented building on Chicago’s southside.
McIlrath began his career in logistics in the Army Corps of Engineers, working in France to help rebuild transportation and water systems at the close of WWII; he achieved the rank of major. He then worked at the Glidden Company as a chemical engineer responsible for quality control and plant processing, and was promoted to production superintendent of the Soya products division. McIlrath joined U.S. Cold Storage Corporation and became the general manager of Chicago operations.
Always active in service and industry organizations, McIlrath was chairman of the International Warehouse Logistics Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Transportation Data Coordinating Committee in Washington, D.C., a director of the Illinois Association of Merchandise Warehousemen and a member of the International Federation of Public Warehouses Association.
McIlrath was a director of the United Methodist Home and a member of the Board of Directors of the First State Bank and Trust of Park Ridge, Illinois.
McIlrath received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Iowa State University. |
