Jaime Cohen Szulc was appointed Managing Director of Global Customer Operations and Chief Operating Officer for the Consumer Digital Imaging Group (CDG) on June 1, 2007. Reporting to the President of the company, Mr. Szulc is responsible for all global operations for the division including consumer marketing, global logistics and supply chain, the Kodak direct operations (on-line store, kodak.com, and CRM), and all of the go-to-market organizations and associated support functions. He is based in Rochester, New York, in the United States.
Since November 2005, Mr. Szulc was the Chairman of Eastman Kodak SA for Europe, Africa & the Middle East and the regional General Manager of the Consumer Digital Imaging and the Film & Photofinishing Systems Groups, based in Geneva, Switzerland. As the leader of the region, Mr. Szulc was responsible for establishing the company’s new digital go-to-market model, managing the restructuring of the entire digital and traditional operations, and the shared services and functions across different businesses (Consumer, Health, Commercial). He overachieved the region’s balance sheet goals by significantly reducing inventories, past due receivables, and the profitability gap to the new digital business model. As a result, in 2007 the region delivered a turn around performance meeting all financial goals -- the best overall results in known history.
Previously, Mr. Szulc was general manager for the Digital & Film Imaging Systems Group for the Americas region (U.S.A., Canada, and Latin America) since September 2003. As a leader of the Americas region, Mr. Szulc was responsible for delivering turn around, record results in the areas of improved profitability, revenue predictability, digital market share, and customer satisfaction in 2004 and 2005. He led the transformation of the Americas regional structure to match the significant changes of the industry, designing and implementing the integration of the digital and traditional business organizations.
In December 2001, Mr. Szulc was elected a vice president of the company. In June 2000, Mr. Szulc was named regional business general manager for Consumer Imaging, Latin America Region. In this role, he achieved outstanding progress on predictability of business results, growth initiatives, cash management, and customer satisfaction -- leading the Latin American region to the top overall relative performance for the worldwide Consumer Imaging business in 2002 and 2003.
Mr. Szulc joined Kodak in December 1998 as General Manager of Marketing for Consumer Imaging in the Latin American Region. Under his leadership, the region achieved record high share results, re-designed local and regional sales, marketing and general management structures, and significantly improved career planning processes (considered best-in-class). Mr. Szulc has been widely recognized by the company for his commitment to diversity. A native Brazilian, Mr. Szulc was the first Latin American ever to be named General Manager of the Latin American, USA, and Canada businesses.
Prior to joining Kodak, Mr. Szulc was marketing director of the Andean Cluster for SC Johnson Wax where he redefined the management strategy for Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru. Mr. Szulc also worked at SC Johnson Wax Brazil as group product manager for the Automotive, Air and Fabric Care categories. From 1990-94, Mr. Szulc worked at Procter & Gamble Brazil where he served as group manager for popular consumer brands such as Phebo and Afazema toiletries.
Mr. Szulc earned a Civil Engineering degree from the Escola Politecnica da Universidade de São Paulo. Besides his native Portuguese, he is also fluent in English and Spanish, with some knowledge of French.
