Jacqueline Melonas is a healthcare attorney and a clinical specialist in psychiatric nursing with a focus on child and adolescent psychiatry. She joined PRMS in 1998 and is responsible for directing and overseeing the risk management department including the consultation helpline for insureds, national seminars and Rx for Risk, the quarterly risk management newsletter. She speaks nationally on emerging liability issues and has been published in numerous publications including Psychiatric News and Psychiatric Practice & Managed Care.
For the past fifteen years, Ms. Melonas has been developing and implementing risk management programs for behavioral healthcare professionals and liability insurance companies, as well as providing claims and litigation management. In addition to her behavioral healthcare experience, she has provided risk management programs for long-term care providers, acute care clinics, and rehabilitation facilities. Ms. Melonas is a member of the American Bar Association, American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Maryland Society for Healthcare Risk Management, American Health Lawyers Association and Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
