Jacqueline Kosecoff joined PacifiCare as executive vice president of Pharmaceutical Services in July 2002 and was named executive vice president of Specialty Companies in 2004. In this position, Kosecoff oversees PacifiCare's specialty businesses including PacifiCare Behavioral Health, PacifiCare Dental & Vision and Prescription Solutions, PacifiCare's pharmacy benefit management subsidiary. She also oversees Women's Health Solutions, the division of PacifiCare that leads the development of special clinical, service and health-information programs for women and their families.
Kosecoff's career includes work in clinical research, health services consulting and entrepreneurial ventures. She joined PacifiCare following four years as president and founder of Protocare, Inc., a firm involved in the development of drugs, devices, biopharmaceutical and nutritional products, and consulting and analytic services. In addition to serving as president, she was also a consultant to PacifiCare and helped spearhead both companies' efforts to create clinical research centers within leading medical groups that serve PacifiCare members.
Prior to Protocare, Kosecoff spent 10 years as founder, co-CEO and president of Value Health Sciences, a wholly owned subsidiary of Value Health, Inc. She also co-founded Chassin & Kosecoff Medical Systems and served as professor of medicine and public health at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she still holds a research professorship.
In addition to her accomplishments as an entrepreneur, Kosecoff is an expert in quality of care assessment. She has written articles for the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association and the Annals of Internal Medicine. She holds a bachelor's degree from UCLA, a master's degree in applied mathematics from Brown University and a Ph.D. in research methods from UCLA. |
