Jacob has more than twenty years of experience in research and development (R&D), and engineering and management work. His career encompasses work in a national laboratory (Israel), and in academia and small corporations (US), where he was responsible for the conception, planning, direction, and execution of highly innovative programs. Jacob is the inventor on US and foreign patents, he is an Associate Fellow with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and he is a referee for AIAA journals, Journal of Computational Physics, SIAM journal for Scientific and Statistical Computing, International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, among others.
