Dr. Ying is Executive Director of Singapore’s Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. She was Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was the thesis advisor for Dr. Todd Zion and co-founded SmartCells with him. Jackie has published 133 articles in refereed journals and books and has been issued nine patents on nanostructured materials for catalytic, biomedical, ceramic, absorption, thin film, and emulsion applications. She has received numerous honors and awards including the prestigious American Institute of Chemical Engineers Allan P. Colburn Award for Excellence in Publications and the Technology Review TR100 Young Innovator Award. Dr. Ying completed her Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering at Princeton University. She was named a Young Global Leader in 2004 by the World Economic Forum. |
