A nationally Certified Legal Nurse Consultant with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from the University of Illinois, an Associate from Roane State Community College School of Nursing, an Associate in Allied Health from the Medical College of Georgia School of Radiologic Technologies and Certified Case Manager. Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of TN since July 1995; National Licensed Radiologic Technologist through the ARRT since 1987; Certified Case Manager in the State of TN since September 2000. Obtained Certified Legal Nursing Consultant certification May 2002 from the Medical-Legal Consulting Institute, Inc., recognized nationally by the legal community. Over the past three years, as an Independent Consultant I designed and developed the framework for Dr. Edward Workman Neuropsychiatric Pain Medicine Medical and Forensic practice, including oversight of our in-house pharmacy for workers comp patients. Most recently, I have also designed and developed Dr. Robert Finelli, Neurosurgeon's solo IME and Forensic practice. I am continually involved with research, continuing education and have been the Clinical trials Coordinator for office of Dr. Edward Workman during the past year. Most recently I co-authored an article in the Worker's Comp Rx Press "In-House Pharmacy in a Neuropsychiatric Pain medicine Sub-Specialty Clinic", with Dr. Edward Workman, MD, Issue July 1, 2007. My career includes workers comp and disability case management, concentrating on expediting medical/vocational rehabilitation. I have assisted with patient education, coordinating physical/occupational therapy, in and outpatient medical/vocational treatment plans and identified appropriate medical providers, durable medical equipment/supplies, home modifications, vehicle modifications, coordinating transitional duty and return to full work duty. As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, I am qualified to perform forensic nursing, including chronological organization of medical records and bills that aid in improving the accuracy of reserve setting and cost containment; evaluating appropriateness of current medical/vocational care and treatment plans; assisting in the clarification of causation issues; and assisting in the development of legal strategies for litigation, arbitration or mediation. |
