PGAL's Chairman since 1988, Jack Linville has been instrumental in developing the firm as a national practice. Over the past 30 years Linville has acquired a national reputation as an urban planner with particular expertise in innovative land use solutions to complex urban problems.Previously, he held the dual position as Director of Land Use and Land Planning Research at the Rice Center for Community Design and Associate Professor of Architecture and Planning at Rice University. During that time, he led the planning and design team on over two dozen innovative urban research projects, including the overall transportation plan that led to the creation of Houston's Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO).Subsequently, he served as a Board Member and Chairman of the Futures Committee of METRO, where he was responsible for developing the transit authority's comprehensive transportation plan. During the 1970s, Linville served as deputy executive director and director of research for the American Institute of Planners, the national professional organization for urban planners. |
