Jack was a full Professor at the Liquid Crystal Institute of Kent State University which he joined in 1988. Jack's research has focused on the optics and electro-optics of Liquid Crystal (LC) devices, and he has published over 80 technical papers and has a number of patents and patents pending to his credit. His research has been supported heavily by industry, including contracts with 3M, HP, Nitto Denko, and Hitachi. Jack has also served as a technical consultant to 11 major companies, including Polaroid, Fujitsu, Honeywell, Samsung, and Philips. Prior to the LCI, Jack worked in Intel as manager of the Magnetic Bubble Memory Technology Development Group. Jack received the Intel Individual Achievement Award in 1986. Jack received his Ph.D. in solid-state Physics from Clarkson University. |
