As special advisor to the CEO at CNET Networks, Inc., Jack Haire is dedicated to optimizing the corporate advertising sales strategy in collaboration with the company's leadership team and raising the company's visibility with a broader set of advertisers and agencies. Jack will focus on creating strategic relationships, mentoring a world-class sales team and maximizing resources for growth. With his extensive media background, he provides experienced and dedicated executive leadership to the sales organization in order to realize the full power of the company's brands.
Before joining CNET Networks in June 2007, Jack spent more than 25 years at Time Warner. Most recently, he ran the Time Inc. Corporate Sales & Marketing division as Executive Vice President and chaired the Time Warner Advertising Council, which was responsible for the development and sale of the company's largest advertising contracts. Earlier in his career, Jack served as publisher of TIME Magazine from 1993 through 1998, when it was chosen as Adweek's Hottest Magazine. From 1998 through 2001, as president of the Fortune/Money Group, he helped Fortune to achieve its best years in circulation, advertising and market share, and partnered with CNN on the launch of CNNMoney.com, one of the Web’s most successful and profitable finance sites
Jack serves on the boards of The Phoenix Companies, Inc., Concern Worldwide U.S., and The Ireland-U.S. Council.
Jack received his bachelor's degree in history from American University in 1974. During his college years, he played varsity wrestling and later co-chaired a capital campaign for American University Wrestling.
Based in CNET Networks' New York offices, Jack and his wife Kathy have two sons and reside in Connecticut. He also enjoys reading, golf and fishing. |
