President, Carolina First Bank/North Carolina
J.W. Davis joined The South Financial Group in October 2003. He serves as President of Carolina First Bank/North Carolina responsible for the North Carolina markets and as a Director of The South Financial Group. In 1997, he founded MountainBank (acquired by TSFG in 2003) and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He previously served over 20 years in senior management positions with NationsBank in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Mr. Davis graduated from the University of South Carolina and the graduate School of Banking at LSU. He also serves as a member of the North Carolina Banking Commission. He received the 2002 Business Leader award from Western Carolina University. |
