Jim Raines is general counsel and secretary for Thomas & Betts Corporation. In this role, Mr. Raines is responsible for managing the company’s worldwide legal obligations.
Mr. Raines joined Thomas & Betts in December 2001, bringing more than 30 years of legal experience to the position.
Prior to joining Thomas & Betts, Mr. Raines was a partner with Glankler Brown, PLLC, a Memphis-based law firm specializing in litigation, real estate and business law, for 25 years. Early in his career, Mr. Raines served as an assistant United States attorney for the Western District of Tennessee and as a trial lawyer for the anti-trust division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a member of the American, Tennessee, Memphis Bar Association, and is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the area of business litigation.
Mr. Raines received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Memphis. He also received a Juris Doctorate degree from the University, where he graduated top of his class and served as editor of the Law Review. |
