Mr. Frey is a senior managing director and portfolio manager for Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors. In 1998, Mr. Frey began investing in master limited partnerships (MLPs) on behalf of Kayne Anderson and has served as portfolio manager of Kayne Anderson's public and private MLP funds since their inception in 2000. Mr. Frey serves as an officer of Kayne Anderson MLP Investment Company (KYN), Kayne Anderson Energy Total Return Fund (KYE), and Kayne Anderson Energy Development Company (KED). He is also responsible for managing assets invested in Canadian oil and gas royalty trusts, maritime transportation and energy high-yield securities. Two of the private funds that Mr. Frey manages have been selected as finalists for the MARHedge Annual US Performance awards in 2005 and 2006.
Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 1997, Mr. Frey was an audit manager in KPMG Peat Marwick’s financial services group, specializing in banking and finance clients, and loan securitizations.
Mr. Frey is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in 1990 and a Master of Taxation from the University of Southern California in 1991. |
