Serving AENS as Vice President of Business Development is JB Voss, an Illinois native and former Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) executive with 17 years’ experience in senior merchandising and training.
In his position with AENS, Mr. Voss is pursuing the development of 110-million-gallon ethanol facilities in Ogden, Iowa; Kankakee, Illinois, and Greenville, Illinois. To move these sites forward he is traveling extensively to meet with local and state officials to assure that zoning and tax abatements move forward for all sites. He is also preparing and submitting documents for sate ethanol incentives, infrastructure improvement grants, and tax-exempt bonds for plant financing.
Mr. Voss also continues to look at future sites and business opportunities for the company. His knowledge of the grain markets, and his experience with local and state programs and incentives, allows him to evaluate opportunities that bring the greatest returns to AENS’ shareholders.
A graduate of Millikin University, Mr. Voss joined ADM’s grain export facility in Havana, Illinois, in 1989. There he mastered the basics of grain origination and merchandising along with barge freight and export economics. After joining the Soybean Processing Division in 1990, he spent 11 successful years between the Kershaw, South Carolina, and Fredonia, Kansas, facilities.
Since 2001 Mr. Voss had worked as a Senior Merchandiser in the greater Kansas City area. First, in North Kansas City, he managed over $30 million in key account sales while overseeing junior merchandisers’ activities totaling more than $150 million annually. Most recently, in Overland Park, Kansas, he maintained all customer contacts for the southwestern United States and managed $70 million in sales for ADM’s western soy-processing interests.
Throughout his work history Mr. Voss has demonstrated a unique ability to grow and maintain profitable long-term customer relationships, often with companies previously unaffiliated with his employer. The talents and abilities he has developed will be key to his future responsibilities with AENS of managing by-product sales for all of the company’s facilities. |
