She is knowledgeable about such diverse technologies as molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, gene therapy, genomics, diagnostic assays and bioinformatics, and has provided counseling on bioprospecting matters. For clients such as universities, research institutes, and both large and small biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, Isabelle files and prosecutes patent applications, manages patent portfolios, prepares patentability, patent invalidity and non-infringement opinions, and provides freedom to operate opinions. She also undertakes transactional due diligence of patent portfolios, and offers litigation support. As a native speaker of the French language, she counsels in matters where a strong knowledge of the French language is necessary. Isabelle’s extensive technical background in the life sciences includes graduate studies of the mechanism by which interferons (natural proteins secreted by mammalian cells) induce the expression of various genes involved in the establishment of an antiviral state in mammalian cells. Before entering law school she conducted postdoctoral research in the field of immunology, with Dr. Laurie H.
