Mr. Cantor is Managing Director of the firm's Plaintiff's Injury Group. He was the founder of Cantor Arkema in 1979. Mr. Cantor was voted by his peers for inclusion in: "Best Lawyers in America" in both Personal Injury Law and Medical Malpractice Law; "Virginia Super Lawyers - Top 50"; and "Virginia's Legal Elite." He is rated "AV" (highest rating) by Martindale-Hubble Legal Directory. Mr. Cantor has tried to verdict or settled over 1500 personal injury cases in his career, including over 350 traumatic brain injury cases. He has achieved over 20 verdicts or settlements exceeding $1,000,000. His closing argument in an actual case was recorded in the audiotape, "VTLA Million Dollar Verdicts."Mr. Cantor's practice consists of representing persons who have suffered catastrophic injuries or death. Traumatic brain injury cases comprise the largest portion of his practice. He regularly handles automobile, tractor trailer, medical malpractice and defective products cases. The vast majority of Mr. Cantor’s cases are referrals from other trial lawyers. Many professionals in the field have asked Mr. Cantor to handle their own injury or malpractice cases, including attorneys, physicians, and claims adjustors. Mr. Cantor served as President of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association in 2002-2003, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia in 2004-2006, and the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2006. He is an active member of the American, Virginia and Southern Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the National and Virginia Brain Injury Associations. He was also elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Litigation Counsel of America. Mr Cantor is Chairman of the 2008 National Legal Conference for the Brain Injury Association of America. Mr. Cantor has lectured to trial attorneys on numerous subjects, including traumatic brain injuries, motor-vehicle collisions, liability insurance coverage, and elements of trial. He is on the faculty of the VTLA College of Trial Advocacy. He has written several published articles and was the author of the chapter dealing with legal aspects of traumatic brain injury cases for the seminal medical textbook on the subject, "Brain Injury Medicine."Mr. Cantor, born in Richmond, Virginia, was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1978 after receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia the same year. After graduation from law school, he worked as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Virginia.
