Ira Young has served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Learning Care Group since February 1999. His primary responsibility is complete oversight of all of the Company’s and its subsidiary’s legal matters.
Prior to his current position and the Childtime acquisition of Tutor Time, Young served as litigation counsel for Tutor Time Learning Systems. Before joining the company, Young worked in private practice at several law firms. Specifically, between 1993 and 1998, he served as Associate Attorney at Mandel Simowitz and Weisman, P.C, specializing in general litigation and corporate work with a concentration on creditor side foreclosure and bankruptcy. Prior to that position, Young worked as an Associate Attorney at both Moore and Menkhaus, PC and Katarincic & Salmon.
Born in Pittsburgh in January 1959, Young holds a Bachelor of Arts degreein Psychology with minors in Sociology and Education from Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, as well as a Masters of Hotel Administration from Cornell University and professional chef certification from the California Culinary Academy. In his spare time, Young enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and playing with his dogs.
