Ingrid Van Den Hoogen drives Sun's brand global communications and integrated marketing efforts. She has led Sun through a unique brand transformation in the past year that positions Sun as a leader in the Participation Age for the next decade.
Prior to leading Sun's corporate branding efforts she led software strategic marketing where she incubated Project Orion (the Java Enterprise System) and led the effort to energize the Java brand which resulted in a new consumer touchpoint for Sun java.com and a new Java developer community site java.net. Ingrid first joined Sun in 1987 to develop demos for the visitor center and moved on to product marketing for graphics and eventually marketed Sun's first enterprise servers. Over the years Ingrid has developed and executed key marketing initiatives including introducing Jini technology to the market. And she was a core part of the team in Sun's CTO organization that created JXTA a peer-to-peer open source project.
She has also held software development positions at Megatek United Technologies and GTE Government Systems. She holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from San Jose State University.
