Michel Picaud leads and has responsibility for Equant Solutions and Services including design sales support vendor management and overall business and P&L management. Equant Global Solutions the offering-design component of the Integration Services and IT Services Practices and Professional Services are a part of this division.
Based in Paris Michel reports to the president and CEO and is a member of the Executive Committee responsible for setting the overall strategy for the company.
From July 2003 to September 2004 Michel led Equant Global Solutions a business unit that addresses outsourcing at Equant. In this role Michel was responsible for all EGS sales and marketing activities as well as assuring the successful management of outsourcing contracts.
Prior to heading EGS Michel successfully led Equant's Central and Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa region In this role he was responsible for all Equant Sales and Marketing operations in the region and positioned the company as the region's leading IP and data provider to large multinational businesses. He formerly served as executive vice president of Global Sales at Global One beginning in December 2000.
Prior to joining Global One he was president of Alcatel Reseaux d'Entreprise (ARE) where he oversaw voice and data enterprise networking (IP ATM) call centers installation and support services and professional services (consulting outsourcing system integration). Among his accomplishments was his key role in the impressive growth of Alcatel as the No. 1 company in the French market for both voice and data corporate networks as well as for call center solutions. Michel first joined Alcatel in 1996 as the regional director of ARE in Paris. In 1997 he became the organization's general manager.
Between 1988 and 1996 Michel was part of Bosch Telecom in France and Germany. His first position was as systems director. This was followed by positions as sales director. In 1993 he was appointed region director for Bosch Telecom in Frankfurt. His final position at Bosch was as general manager and member of the board in France (1995-1996).
Michel began his telecommunications career with France-Télécom in 1978. Key among his appointments were serving in the organizations of the Economic Advisory Committee of the French Government the Cabinet of the French PTT Minister and in Transpac. In 1988 he was appointed director for France Telecom International.
Michel holds degrees from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Télécommunications in Paris and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Paris.
Michel is married and has six children. He is an avid tennis player and appreciates Bordeaux and Chablis wines. |
