Ian Simpson is General Manager of L-3 CTL with operations in Watsonville, California. This organization has grown over 40 years and specializes in high power magnetron design, manufacturing and refurbishment for both commercial and military markets. CTL was acquired in August 2005 by L-3 (as part of the Titan acquisition). Mr. Simpson joined the company in 2004 having previously served in various company transition roles at Director and Vice President levels. His career spans over 30 years and covers a broad range of technologies. He has previously served at AS&E, Black & Decker and Philips. Mr. Simpson was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Physics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and subsequently entered the microwave industry as a design engineer in passive components, oscillators and phased array antennas. Mr. Simpson has over 20 years of engineering and manufacturing management experience and specializes in business development, program management and repetitive manufacturing techniques. |
