Ian Fujiyama is a Managing Director focused on U.S. buyout investments in the information technology and business services sectors. He is based in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Carlyle in 1997, Mr. Fujiyama was an Associate at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette Securities Corp. While at DLJ, he worked in the Corporate Finance Group with a focus on high yield and merchant banking transactions.
Beginning in 1999, Mr. Fujiyama spent two years in Hong Kong and Seoul working in Carlyle's Asia buyout fund, Carlyle Asia Partners. Mr. Fujiyama was also instrumental in establishing Carlyle's automotive and retail and consumer investment practices.
Mr. Fujiyama received his B.S. in economics, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in finance.
