Mr. MacKenzie has served as President and as a Director since the acquisition of the Company from Solectron and previously held equivalent positions at SMART Modular from 2002. In September 2005 he was named Chief Executive Officer of the Company. From 1998 to 2002 Mr. MacKenzie served as Vice President of Worldwide Operations of the Technology Solutions Business unit of Solectron. Before that he was responsible for the start up of SMART Modular Technologies (Europe) Ltd. and he served as its general manager from 1997 to 1998. Prior to joining SMART Modular Mr. MacKenzie held various management and leadership positions at other high technology corporations including Hughes Microelectronics Ferrofluidics Inc. (NH) Digital Equipment Corp. (semiconductor division) and Apricot Computers Ltd. (a Mitsubishi Company). He holds the Higher National Diploma in mechanical and production engineering and the Ordinary National Diploma in electrical/electronics engineering both from the Kirkcaldy College of Technology (Fife University) in Scotland. |
