Hunter Hollar is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Sandy Spring Bancorp Inc. and its subsidiary Sandy Spring Bank. He has served on the Board of Directors since his hire in 1990 and is presently the only inside director. Mr. Hollar joined Sandy Spring Bank as President and Chief Operating Officer in December 1990 and assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer in 1994. Under his leadership Sandy Spring has grown from $500 000 in assets to $2.5 billion from 10 branch offices to 32 and from a single commercial bank to a financial services organization incorporating subsidiaries for insurance equipment leasing and asset management. Mr. Hollar's banking career spans over 30 years with an emphasis in commercial lending and general management. Prior to joining Sandy Spring he was Senior Credit Officer for Dominion Bank in Virginia. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and a MBA from James Madison University. Mr. Hollar is a past Chairman of the Maryland Bankers Association and is currently serving a three year term as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. |
