Hugh Gorman is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department. He focuses his practice on construction law, creditor’s rights, general business litigation and sports law. Hugh joined the firm in 2008 after eighteen years at Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP.
General contractors, owners, subcontractors and suppliers depend upon Hugh’s expertise and advice in all aspects of private and public construction law and claims. He is frequently invited to speak on construction law issues before trade organizations and is a contributing writer to various industry magazines. Hugh’s experience includes the prosecution/defense of delay, inefficiency, defect, extra work, changed condition, mechanic’s lien, bond, contract disputes and claims, as well as advising on the wide variety of issues that arise on construction projects from contract resolution to project wrap-up.
Hugh also represents commercial lenders, financial institutions, businesses and individuals in all aspects of creditor's rights (including pre-judgment security), bankruptcy, corporate and commercial disputes and litigation.
In addition to his construction law and litigation practice, Hugh is also a NHLPA Certified Player Agent (since 1996), representing NHL, AHL and ECHL players. In this capacity, he assists and guides athletes through complex business and legal issues which are unique to professional sports.
Hugh is also a trained arbitrator and a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial and Construction Law Arbitration Panel. |
