Experience: Hugh has been associated with Goodman & Company since 1985. During his career, Hugh has worked with a variety of small to medium size businesses including, but not limited to government contractors, technology companies, automobile dealerships, retailers, wholesalers, seafood processors, manufacturers, hospital cooperatives, municipal engagements and non-profit entities. The services provided to these clients include a variety of auditing, accounting, tax and consulting services. Hugh is also one of the firm’s primary sources for audits of corporate profit sharing and employee fringe benefit plans. Hugh has been responsible for compliance testing and preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable guidelines for the various boards, authorities and commissions that he audits as required by the various relevant Office of Management and Budget Circulars. In addition to providing traditional accounting and tax services to clients, Hugh has developed substantial expertise in working with various clients on cash flow analysis, financial projections, LIFO inventory analysis, business valuations and business acquisition and merger strategies. He also has experience with tax compliance issues regarding foreign sales corporations and domestic international sales corporations. Hugh is also aware of the qualification requirements for various state credit incentives under the Virginia Urban Enterprise Zone program and has been instrumental in qualifying many clients under this program.
