Mr. H.B. Chen was named President of Acer Display Technology Inc. in 1997, then became President of AUO since the merger between Acer Display Technology Inc. and Unipac Optoelectornics Corp. in 2001. In 2007, he was elected by the Board as Vice-Chairman. Prior to his current position, Chen was the Managing Director for Acer Technologies Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia from 1992 to 1997.
In recognition of his skilled leadership, Chen received the Greatest Industry Contribution of Gold Panel Awards from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2001 . In 2000, Chen gathered the trade to found the Taiwan TFT LCD Association (TTLA) to urge the Taiwan TFT-LCD industry development and the growth. In 2004, Chen was honored with the Special Recognition Award offered by SID (Society for Information Display).
Chen holds his Bachelor's Degree in Communications Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan in 1975. |
