Mr. Young is a shareholder at Jones Waldo in the firm’s Corporate Section and is currently chair of the firm’s Business Department.
His practice includes work on both the seller and buyer/investor side of venture capital, private equity and other merger and acquisition transactions. He also devotes significant time to the formation, financing and on-going representation of new and more mature companies in the health science, Internet, media, computer, manufacturing, consumer products and advertising sectors.
Mr. Young’s legal background includes 12 years at two large regional law firms, division counsel for a $1 billion division of a Fortune 250 medical device company, and general counsel for an Internet start-up. He has been named one of the top Corporate/M&A lawyers in Utah for several years by Chambers' America's Leading Business Lawyers and is included in Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite.
In addition to his law degree from the University of Utah, Howard studied international law in Paris, France, completed a year of graduate business studies at Brigham Young University, and clerked with the Utah Supreme Court. He is a member of the Utah and American Bar Associations.
Outside the office, Howard skis and mountain bikes in the nearby mountains with his wife, Amy, and daughters, Hannah and Emily. He also rides with a local, firm-sponsored cycling club. |
