Mr. Lasky’s broad-based business law practice emphasizes general corporate and intellectual property matters, securities law, and private company financing. Mr. Lasky has provided legal and business advice to numerous venture-backed technology and other start-up companies as well as seasoned, public companies such as Charles Schwab & Co., SAVVIS, Inc., Longs Drugs and Cable & Wireless PLC. Mr. Lasky also represents venture funds, hedge funds and buy-out funds. Mr. Lasky advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property, including, planning, inbound and outbound licensing, and the acquisition and disposition of extensive intellectual property portfolios. Professional Activities - Mr. Lasky spent several years as the Vice President and General Counsel of Digital Island, Inc., a publicly traded technology company and, after that company’s acquisition, remained as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Cable & Wireless PLC, a London and NYSE publicly traded company with annual revenue of $8.6 billion and operations in 33 countries throughout the world. Education - Mr. Lasky earned his J.D., with high honors, in 1987 from Golden Gate University Law School, where he was an editor of the Golden Gate University Law Review. |
