Howard Madris' practice emphasizes chapter 11 and related insolvency representation of corporations and high net-worth individuals in their capacities as debtors, creditors, creditors' committees and adversary proceeding defendants. He also practices general litigation with an emphasis on commercial business disputes. In insolvency-related matters, Mr. Madris has represented clients in diverse areas such as the steel industry, import/export, food services, nutritional supplements, apparel, and entertainment, to name but a few. Prior to joining the firm in 1996, Mr. Madris primarily represented financial institutions, including secured creditors, in complex chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, in addition to a general litigation practice. Mr. Madris has written insolvency-related articles for the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the San Francisco Daily Journal. He was a guest on CNN's Burden of Proof and has commented on insolvency issues for CNN and CNN Headline News. Mr. Madris is a member of the Financial Lawyers Conference. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cornell University Southern California Alumni Association. He received a B.S. degree from Cornell University and earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law. |
