Dr. Howard Hodis is a professor of medicine and preventive medicine professor of molecular pharmacology and toxicology at the Keck School of Medicine University of Southern California. Dr. Hodis is the Director of the Atherosclerosis Research Unit at USC. His research emphasis is in the area of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular prevention and intervention as well as development and application of non-invasive and invasive arterial imaging technologies to study the assessment screening prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis. Dr. Hodis specializes in the treatment of lipid disorders. He is an investigator of several clinical trials involving a variety of anti-atherosclerosis interventions three basic science projects investigating the atherogenicity of oxysterols and oxidized LDL and the anti-atherogenicity of antioxidants and estrogen and three molecular genetic family studies of atherosclerosis. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 scientific publications in his area of research interest. Dr. Hodis serves on special-emphasis panels and review committees for the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the American Heart Association.
Dr. Hodis received his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. |
