Hong S. Lin is an associate in the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department in McDermott Will & Emery’s Silicon Valley office. His practice focuses on patent litigation and patent prosecution.
Hong’s prior legal experience as a patent agent has included drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, software, and mechanical arts, including business methods and medical devices. He has also performed patent litigation support and developed client patent portfolios.
Prior to law school, Hong gained practical technical experience in circuit design and software development working at technology companies including Analog Devices, Celeritek, Inc., and Weather Services International. In addition, Hong performed undergraduate research on the characterization of gallium nitride semiconductor devices.
Hong earned his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University where he was a Cornell Presidential Research Scholar, and his J.D. from Fordham University. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
