Hiroyuki Tarumi joined parent company Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) in 1975, where his career has been spent mostly in MC's Metals Group. His first assignment was to MC's Non-Ferrous Metals Department, which led to a stay of more than three years, starting in 1984, as the Resident Manager of the Chino Mines Company, a former joint venture located in New Mexico. His assignments since he returned to Tokyo in 1987 have enabled him to experience a broad range of metals-related businesses, including aluminum, copper metals, ore and precious metals. He became General Manager of the CEO Office of the Metals Group in 2005, and was appointed an Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi International Corporation in April 2006. Mr. Tarumi is a graduate of the University of Tokyo, where he concentrated on the study of economics. |
