Hicham Adra joined CGI in 1987 and is currently Senior Vice-President and General Manager for CGI’s business in the National Capital Region. Under Hicham Adra’s leadership CGI’s operations have grown to become one of the largest employers in the National Capital Region with its affiliated company Innovapost.
Mr. Adra leads CGI’s Executive Council on the Public Sector. In his function as an IT services partner to the Canadian government he has been a member of the Government On-Line Advisory Panel reporting directly to the Treasury Board Secretariat. He oversees CGI’s role as lead systems integrator and provider of architectural oversight for one of the federal government’s largest systems integration projects the Secure Channel initiative. Also he is a member of the Board and Chair of the Human Resources committee of Innovapost a joint venture between CGI and Canada Post group of companies.
Hicham Adra has been instrumental in making CGI one of the more caring companies in the National Capital Region. Through several community-oriented endeavours he has nurtured a culture of caring within the organization. Mr. Adra was the 2005 Chair of the United Way / Centraide fund-raising campaign in the Ottawa-Carleton Region a campaign that raised over $25 million. He was Chair of the High Tech Division of the United Way / Centraide fund-raising campaign in the Ottawa-Carleton Region from 1998-2002.
Mr. Adra is Vice-Chair of the Board of Director and a member of the Executive Committee and the Governance Committee of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation. He is also a member of the National Arts Centre 2007 Black and White Soiree Committee and served as a member of the National Arts Centre Theatre Renewal Campaign. Mr. Adra is Co-Chair of the Employer Council of Champions a group of leading employers in Ottawa who have committed to championing the issue of economic integration of skilled immigrants.
Hicham Adra established his roots in Ottawa attending Carleton University where he earned his Bachelors of Engineering in systems and computer engineering.
