Mr. Wender was named non-executive Chairman of Radian’s board of directors effective May 1 2005. From May 1999 until the effective date of his appointment as non-executive Chairman Mr. Wender served as Lead Director of Radian’s board of directors. Mr. Wender served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Radian’s board of directors from May 1999 until the dissolution of this committee by the board of directors in September 2005. He served as the non-executive Chairman of Radian's board of directors from August 1992 to May 1999. He was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Radian Guaranty Inc. Radian's principal mortgage insurance subsidiary from June 1983 until July 1992. Between 1998 and 2001 Mr. Wender served variously as a director and Vice Chairman of LandAmerica Financial Group Inc. a title insurance company. Before that he was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of LandAmerica Financial Group’s corporate predecessor Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. He has been a director of Radian since July 1992.
