~Henry began his career in the hospitality industry in 1979 while he was attending Millersville State University in Millersville, PA. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1980, Henry continued his career in the hospitality industry with Americana Hotels. He spent his first seven years with Americana Hotels, holding positions that included bookkeeper, corporate accountant, acquisition team accountant, property controller and finally corporate controller. Henry worked at various hotels including the Hilton Hotel in Mount Laurel, NJ, the Americana Resort in Great Gorge, NJ and the Host Resort properties in Lancaster, PA. Henry left Americana Hotels in 1986 to join an upstart computer company named Integrated Data Services. The company had previously served as the technology center for Americana Hotels and had developed their own property management system software for the hotel industry. Henry gained valuable knowledge and experience in the personal computing world during his brief stay with IDS. He took this experience back to the hotel operating environment when he joined The Goodman Company in 1987 as controller of their Sheraton Hotel in Reading, PA.Henry spent the next four years serving as the controller for the Reading, PA property until Meyer Jabara Hotels assumed the operations in 1991. At that time Meyer Jabara Hotels was just beginning to grow and Henry was asked to move to the support office as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. He has spent the last nine years serving in the capacity of CFO in the Danbury, Connecticut office. Henry's experience and knowledge of hotel accounting and technology has contributed significantly to the growth and success of the company. Henry is responsible for the development and implementation of financial reporting systems and the computerization of all properties. His knowledge of technology has enabled Meyer Jabara Hotels to become among the most computer connected companies in the industry.Henry has served on the Board for the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut for the past two years. He is also a member of the Fairfield and Westchester Counties Chapter of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals. |
