Heidi Margulis was named senior vice president government relations in January 2000. She provides leadership for the development execution and advocacy of state and federal legislative regulatory public affairs and public sector strategy policies outreach and initiatives designed to advance Humana's business objectives and to position the enterprise at a competitive advantage.
Ms. Margulis joined Humana in 1985 and has held increasingly more responsible regulatory- and legislative-public affairs' advocacy positions. She was promoted to vice president government affairs in 1995. Her extensive regulatory legislative and public affairs' experience and resource networks coupled with her industry and company knowledge provide Humana with the vision and leadership we need to advance our vision mission and values with state and federal legislative regulatory and administrative bodies advocacy groups trade groups and other community groups and opinion leaders.
Both the current and previous U.S. Secretaries of Health & Human Services recognized Ms. Margulis' expertise with appointments to Secretary Thompson's Advisory Committee on Regulatory Reform (executive committee) and Secretary Shalala's Advisory Panel on Medicare Education. She currently serves on public policy committees of The Business Roundtable National Business Group on Health America's Health Insurance Plans and Greater Louisville Inc. She is on the Advisory Board of the Yale Women's Political Forum and has served on a variety of local state and national civic charitable and public sector boards. |
