Heidi J. Eddins joined Florida East Coast Industries, Inc. in March 1999 as Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel and was promoted to Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel in December 1999. Mrs. Eddins is responsible for all legal affairs of the Corporation and is the Chief Compliance Officer. The following functions report to her: Corporate Human Resources, Risk and Claims Management, Communications and Governmental Affairs, Environmental Management and Compliance, and Shareholder Services. She also manages a variety of real estate related transactions for use of the railroad’s right-of-way.
She is an honors graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law where she served as executive editor of the Law Review and is a summa cum laude graduate of Boston College with a BA in English Studies.
She is also a Director of Allete, an energy services company, headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota.
Her community service includes service on the Florida Transportation Commission as a gubernatorial appointee, effective January 2004; prior to that she served 2 ½ years as a gubernatorial appointee to the Florida High Speed Rail Authority. She is on the Board of Directors of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Flagler Hospital Foundation and the St. Johns Welfare Federation, a not-for-profit nursing home and assisted living facility in St. Augustine, Florida.
She is admitted by examination to practice law in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island and is admitted as an in-house counsel in Florida. |
