Heather Kenny Heather is a member of the firm's Public Law Practice Group where she works with cities and special districts. One area of focus is elections law and initiatives. Her experience includes assisting in litigation involving challenges to ballot arguments as well as challenges to the validity of local initiative measures.In addition, Heather has worked with multiple cities in California with respect to local initiative issues and has been active in campaigns on both the state and local level. This includes serving as campaign manager for two city council candidates, where her candidates were ultimately successful. Heather has also worked extensively in the area of conflicts of interest, where she has aided public agencies in addressing issues arising under Government Code 1090 and the Political Reform Act. She also works with clients in all aspects of redevelopment law, as well as land use law, including general plan amendments and zoning changes.Heather’s work in public law dovetails with her extensive experience in California politics. Prior to going into private practice, Heather worked for nine years in the California Legislature. |
