Hayden received his B.B.A. from the University of Texas, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He later attended the Business of Banking School and the Graduate School of Bank Operations. He began his banking career in 1972 at First City Bank in Houston, and later went on to serve in senior operations, sales, and marketing positions at Bank of Oklahoma and First National Bank of Denver.
Hayden joined the RepublicBank Corporation in 1980 and became Executive Vice President and Manager of the Operating Services Division. Eight years later, he went to First Interstate Bank of Texas as Executive Vice President and Group Manager of Operations.
Throughout his career, Hayden has held many executive positions, served as Director on numerous bank boards, and was an advisor to the Federal Reserve and the American Bankers Association.
He has been affiliated with many other industry organizations, including several Clearinghouse Associations and University programs. Hayden is a frequent speaker on payment system issues, and is a nationally recognized expert on bank operations and technology.
He is currently President of The Mariner Group, Inc., a company that consults with financial institutions and technology service providers. |
