Mr. Bishop’s work focuses primarily upon mergers, acquisitions, tax, and entity structure issues. He is also involved with the economic incentives practice, business and tax planning, and the state and local tax controversy group.Seminars and Publications:Mr. Bishop co-taught a CLE at the Birmingham Bar Association in 2005 entitled Limited Liability Companies: Formational and Operational Issues. He also has published, The Great Turf War of the New Millenium: Can Banks Engage in Real Estate Brokerage and Management Activities? 6 North Carolina Banking Institute Journal 391 (2002).Representative Transactions:Assisted in a $3.6 billion debt refinancing for a major public company. Representation of manufacturing companies in asset and stock purchases. Provision of tax advice facilitating multiple corporate reorganizations. Outside the Office:Mr. Bishop enjoys travel, water and snow skiing, and boating. |
