Dr. Handley joined Aethlon in July 2006 as President and brings with him a wealth of experience in related technologies and business applications. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Handley spent six years as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Transvivo, Inc., a developer of bio-filtration and catheter devices, where he oversaw all regulatory, clinical, patent and research strategies and was instrumental in obtaining FDA approval for clinical studies of an in-situ plasmapheresis catheter. Dr. Handley’s prior research and patents served as the founding technology for IDEC Pharmaceuticals, now Biogen-IDEC (NasdaqGS: BIIB), a multi-billion dollar international biotechnology healthcare company. Over his career, Dr. Handley has participated at various levels in high-growth biotechnology companies including Hybridtech, IDEC and Maxim Pharmaceuticals. Handley has authored numerous scientific publications and is the primary inventor of more than a dozen issued patents. Dr. Handley received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. In his spare time, Handley has also won five world bodysurfing championship titles. .
