Harold Glen Walker was named Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of the United States Postal Service in August 2006. In this role, he reports directly to the Postmaster General. Walker heads the organization’s Finance, Treasury, Information Technology, and Supply Management functions and is a member of its Executive Committee and Chairman of its corporate Capital Investment Committee. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $70 billion and is an independent, self-sustaining entity of the federal government that is required by statute to break even over time.
With more than 30 years of domestic and international financial experience, Walker most recently served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Invensys Controls. He also served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer for a significant portion of Whirlpool Corporation’s international operations, encompassing 35 nations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. While at Whirlpool, Walker organized and located a shared services center in Dublin, Ireland, that has served as a model for many major multi-national companies. Earlier, Walker was a partner at Ernst and Young accounting firm.
A certified public accountant, Walker earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from the University of Memphis.
