Hany A. Mawla is a partner of the firm in its Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice in litigation of matrimonial, non-matrimonial and other complex family law related matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mawla worked as an associate at two New Jersey law firms where he also concentrated in matrimonial litigation. He previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable Craig Randall Harris, of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Part, Essex County. Mr. Mawla is a graduate of Rutgers University (1995) with collegiate honors and high honors in political science. He received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law (1998), where he served as an intern for the Family Law Clinic at the Seton Hall University School of Law Center for Social Justice. Mr. Mawla is an accredited mediator for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases by the Administrative Office of the Courts pursuant to Rule 1:40, and is a panelist in the Early Settlement Program for Family Court matters in Essex and Middlesex counties. He has lectured on family law matters on behalf of the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Mawla is also a member of the editorial board of the New Jersey Family Lawyer. Mr. Mawla is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University in the Department of Political Science and the Center for Middle East Studies. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Center for Middle East Studies. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Raritan Valley Community College, where he teaches in the Paralegal Studies Degree Program. Mr. Mawla was also a member of the faculty for the 2005 New Jersey Judicial College. Mr. Mawla is fluent in Arabic and was a member of the New Jersey Arab and Muslim Advisory Committee to the Office of Bias Crime and Community Relations of the Office of the Attorney General in the Department of Law and Public Safety. He is a Commissioner of the New Jersey Commission on Civil Rights, Department of Law and Public Safety and a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. |
