Hampton's earliest memories are of making wine and of learning to respect the land in which the vines grow. Today, his sensitivity to the environment guides both the winery's agricultural and winemaking practices. Organic farming is the standard in the vineyards, and recoverable waste methods are consistently employed in the winemaking process. Hampton is a forerunner in modern environmental affairs in the winemaking industry, and he continually works to ensure that the winery meets "green business" standards.
As the winery’s National Sales Director, Hampton accepts the challenge of taking his family business from its rich past into a enduring future of Russian River Valley winegrowing. "I would like the winery to be a template for any undertaking with quality, integrity, and sustainability as the primary criteria," he says. "Our goal is to remain stewards of the land in protecting the integrity of our agricultural heritage." |
