Hal Calhoun joined Menlo Ventures in 2000. Prior to Menlo, he served as Senior Vice President of Product Marketing for ONI Systems (ONIS), a leading optical networking equipment manufacturer. Previously, he held various market development positions in the Optical Networks division of Nortel Networks and was Senior Manager of Broadband Transport Planning at Fujitsu Network Communications. At Menlo, Mr. Calhoun focuses on investments in leading companies in the information technology sector. His recent investments and board seats include Bluesocket, Invidi, Movaz Networks, Parama Networks, S2io Technologies, Santur, and Stretch. Mr. Calhoun is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering), where his graduate work focused on photonic materials, devices and systems.
