Mr. Calhoun joined Menlo Ventures in 2000. Prior to Menlo Ventures, he was one of the early employees at ONI Systems (ONIS), a leading optical communications equipment manufacturer, where he served in a number of roles, most recently as senior vice president of product marketing. Previously, he held various market development positions in the Optical Networks division at Nortel Networks and was Senior Manager of Broadband Transport Planning at Fujitsu Network Communications. At Menlo, Mr. Calhoun focuses on investments in leading companies in the information technology sector. His recent investments and board seats include Bluesocket, GTronix, Invidi, KeyEye, Movaz Networks, Neterion, Rivulet, Santur, Stretch, Tablus, and Quellan. Hal is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (B.S and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering), where his graduate work focused on photonic semiconductor materials, devices, and systems. |
