Admiral H. G. "Harry" Ulrich, III, USN (retired) joins Enterra Solutions following a distinguished 35-year military career. As the Executive Vice President for Enterra Solutions' International Security Affairs Practice, Admiral Ulrich is responsible for all aspects of Enterra Solutions' Global Domain Awareness program as well as the company's overall Maritime product service offerings. Drawing on his extensive background and expertise, he continues to provide thought leadership in the Maritime community. Admiral Ulrich's portfolio includes work in Global Maritime Domain Awareness; Maritime/Naval Solutions; Development-in-a-Box™; Balkan Region/Southeastern European expansion; and African expansion.
A native of Southampton, PA, Admiral Ulrich began his military career upon entering the U.S. Naval Academy, from which he graduate in 1972. He served in a broad range of sea and shore assignments, including seven sea tours with units of the Atlantic Fleet. During those assignments, he participated in eight deployments to South America, West Africa, Northern and Southern Europe, and the Arabian Gulf. During his last assignment, Admiral Ulrich served as Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe, and Commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples. As Commander U.S. Naval Forces Europe, he was responsible for providing overall command, operational control, and coordination of U.S. Naval forces in the European Command area of responsibility. As Commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Adm. Ulrich had operational responsibility for NATO missions in the Balkans, Iraq and the Mediterranean. Prior to that assignment, he served simultaneously as Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet; Commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO); and Commander, Allied Joint Command Lisbon.
Adm. Ulrich's shore assignments included duty on the Joint Staff and the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations. He has served as Director of Cruise Missile Plans and Policy, as well as Director of Surface Warfare. In 2001, he was selected to lead the revolution in U.S. Navy training as Commander, Task Force Excel.
In addition to his degree from Annapolis, Adm. Ulrich earned a Master of Science in Physics from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, and he also studied at the National War College in Washington, D.C. |
