Guy Strawder is LHI’s Vice President of Public Sector Services. Mr. Strawder manages LHI’s office in Washington, DC and is one of the firm’s senior federal healthcare consultants. He is also responsible for business development with federal agencies, state government, and other public sector entities.
Most recently, Mr. Strawder served as Vice President of Military Medical Readiness and Operations for a federal healthcare consulting firm in Washington, DC. Prior, Mr. Strawder was Director of TRICARE Prime Operations, the Defense Department’s managed care health plan. From 2001 to 2004, he was senior military advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs).
Mr. Strawder served with the 82nd Airborne Division as operations and intelligence officer during several national contingency operations, including Operation Just Cause (Panama), and he commanded the largest medical company in the XVIIIth Airborne Corps in support of Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Strawder, a highly decorated combat veteran, retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army in 2006.
Mr. Strawder has extensive healthcare policy and administration experience through his numerous assignments in the National Capital Area and a government-sponsored fellowship with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. His military staff assignments include Director of the Department of Defense Military Vaccine Agency, Deputy Chief of Current Operations for the Army Surgeon General, and Health Services Plans Officer on The Joint Staff.
Mr. Strawder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology from East Carolina University and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina. He is a resident graduate from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. |
